The Beginning

We are all home and our hearts are full. We are glad to be home and sad to be home at the same time. Happy to be home because we get to see our children and families, sad to be home because we had a absolutely amazing time with God's children in Peru.

When we left Hannah's Home on Friday the local men helping us, Wilmer, Jose' and Jimmy, had a short section of wall to finish and the front wall would be complete! Our team worked hard, but we could not have made the progress we made without them.

There is still a lot of work to be done. Dave Bargerstock, ChildReach Ministries' Construction Coordinator, took measurements and, together with Terry and Jeff, has made plans and laid the ground work so ChildReach Del Peru will continue working on Hannah's Home. Ricky Mavilla, CRDP's Peru point man, will order materials and the workforce from one of our partner ministries in Peru, Shalom Community Church in Villa El Salvador, will keep working on the wall to make Hannah's Home secure. And of course, we still have Toby, Hogar Di Ninos guard Dog, to help.

We will continue to update The Hannah's Home blog with pictures, information and storie as we have them. Check out the Flickr badge to the right of this note, or go to www.flickr.com. We will upload our pictures there and will title them Hannah's Home. There's also phots there from Hogar di Ninos, Biloxi and other places CRM carries God's message of love and service.

Thank you to all who donated to the special offering for Hannah's Home. Your sacrifice and obedience has made an eternal difference in the lives of the girls who will reside in Hannah's Home, the children and staff of Hogar di Ninos, the community of Chilca, Shalom Community Church and every team member who works on this project. God's hand is in this endeavor, and He is smiling.

Its Been A Ride!!!

I am sitting at the Lima Airport with emotions bubbling over! It has been a roller coaster time here in Peru, one filled with many high peaks and low, low valleys. But, I guess what really matters is that Hannah’s Home is under construction – not the fact that I am going to horribly miss our new “home” or the new relationships we’ve formed or the many children and their smiles! Because if I’ve learned anything on this trip, it’s that obedience to Him is far, far, far greater than accomplishing any goal. This is not about partnerships formed with neighbors on both continents, its about the impact Hannah’s Home has already had on the Chilca community. We’ve been welcomed with open arms and loved as one of Peru’s own. We’ve had workers sent from Pastor Moises and Shalom church and children who stopped by, spent the day and loved on us. John David, one of the boys who spent 3 years at Hogar de Ninos, came by to ask if one of his friends could work for us. When we agreed, it was both who showed up for work the next day! John David just wanted to be part of what was going on! That’s the kind of reward we get when we’re part of His plan! It has been hammered home to us (me) from that Sunday at Marco’s church, that its not our agenda, but its His that counts.

Thank you all for your love, support and prayers over the last few weeks. You have once again been God’s tools by affirming to me that God is truly the one in control at ChildReach Ministries.

They are calling my flight, good night.

Holy Ground!!!

That´s the prayer that was used today when we dedicated the land to the Lord!!! I´ll back up for a minute. Today the group started the day enjoying the kids at Hogar de Ninos while Ricky and I ran to get the last bit of information we needed to complete the deal for Hannah´s Home! And, WE GOT IT!!! So, I called the group at 1:30 this afternoon and by the time we got to Chilca, the foundation had been dug for the front wall! This group is amazing!!! At the end of the day Dave Bargerstock asked the group if they could gather around for a ¨dedication¨of Hannah´s Home. As we formed a circle and held hand´s together with Felix and Erika, the land owner and his brother, we prayed for God´s guidance and blessing upon not only Hannah´s Home. We also prayed for the family that has been so gracious to us as we invade their home. Please continue to pray for the group as they work on Hannah´s Home the rest of the week and also for safe travel for Jeff as he travels tomorrow and me as I travel on Wednesday. We definetly feel your prayers and support and words will not express what we are feeling.

love ya´ll and miss ya...God bless you for partnering with us!!!

We're Home!!!

Good Lord's Day, all! The last few days have been very intense here in Peru! What we thought was a deal, what we thought was the direction we were heading in, has flipped! As we were at the office, ready to purchase Hannah's Home, we were told "no deal!" The wife of the owner of the land simply didn't want to honor our deal. She wanted more money! Well, what the devil meant for his pleasure, God again, turned it into His gain. There is much to the story (I'll tell it in our newsletter), but to make an already long story shorter, Hannah's Home is now located on a 3 times larger piece of land (for the same money!) AND we are right across the street from our ministry partners - Hogar de Ninos!!! That's right, we are neighbors with Hogar!!! God truly does have a plan, we just have to take the time to stop and listen! I said in an earlier blog "Be Still and Know that I am God" and God has proved that to us (me) AGAIN!!!

I will write more later, but wanted to update you!!! We are very excited here in Peru!!!

Love ya all,
Terry

Airport Run

Good evening, everyone! We are heading to the airport to get Dave and Cindy Bargerstock, the first of our group. Dave is going to head up our construction efforts and wants to get a good start by looking over the property and figuring out where to start. We have a deal for the land, but in Peru, if a couple owns the land (and they do) then both must sign. We are waiting for the wife to get here to sign the papers (she's in the mountains). Hopefully, she will be here in the morning and then we can take possession. Muneer and Maria Teresa (our attorney and her husband) brokered the deal and are very excited for us. And I am very excited to get started.

Not much else to report, all our efforts right now are taken up with the land deal. God has been so good to us, but please continue your prayers! We are very close to seeing the first Hannah's Home become a reality!!!

Please remember to support Hannah's Hike this weekend. I've heard the weather may not cooperate, but its not about weather, it's about children!

Love to all,
Terry

Tuesday Evening

Good evening, all! Today and yesterday were great days for ChildReach Ministries. Over $28,000 has been raised for Hannahs Home so far, and we are still counting! God has supplied in His usual BIG way. Although we have enough to pay for the land, please don´t let it stop there! Every penny raised will come directly here to help with the construction. That´s 100% of your donation (which is tax-deductible, by the way) will go directly to the mission field to help young mothers and their babies. What an awesome privilidge it is to serve our God!!! Some of our team was able to tour the house on the property (no gringos yet, the final papers have not been signed and they don´t want to inflate the price because of the ´wealthy´ American) and we will have to tear down the back half of the house because it lacks a proper foundation. We also need to secure the house and it´s contents and begin building the security gate. All of this is greek to alot of us, but suffice it to say that we have our work cut out for us. Elizabeth (our potential Director) was with us spewing forth ideas and excitement at the project in which she will definitely play a part. She is currently attending English school to better communicate with ChildReach and families that will surely come into her life. Please remember her in your prayers - school 3-5pm, work 6pm-9am, home by 10am to leave for school again at 2pm. A wicked schedule for anyone!

Today I saw a young mother feeding her baby along a busy street and couldn´t help thinking that in a few short months teens like her will be able to care for their babies in the secluded safety of Hannah´s Home. And, then as we rolled up to an intersection in Lima, the children (very small) were begging for just one sol (about 30 cents) and I couldn´t help but think about those families all over the world who would love the chance to hug these kids as their own. My heart breaks at these thoughts, but I, and the Lord, can rest assured that help is coming!!!

Words cannot accurately describe what the Lord is doing here, and, the cool thing is, we´re all a part!!!

Buenos noches y Dios te Bendiga (good night and God Bless You!),
Terry

YEA GOD!!!!

Good afternoon, all. My heart is overwhelmed right now and I have too much inside me, I just HAD to write! Quickly, allow me to give you an update, as I know the facts, to this point. As most of you know by now, the plea was made Saturday for some much needed funding for Hannah's Home. We were prepared to buy some land in Lurin, but we weren't prepared to fund it the way that it has turned out to be necessary. We lacked about $15,000 to completely pay for the land - no mortgage, no payment plans...nothing! God has moved, His Spirit led, and you have responded in a HUGE way. RiverTree has taken an offering for Hannah's Home, many of you have pledged and already sent checks, prayers have been offered on our behalf and, to His Glory - THE NEED HAS BEEN MET! We are still receiving your generous, sacrificial, obedient pledges, etc., and the excess is being collected (sound familiar?). We will not only purchase the property DEBT-FREE, but will start construction THIS WEEK on the addition necessary to the existing building!!!!

I want to say Thank You, but it is not from just me. Childreach, Jeff, Dave, Brenda, Rick, RiverTree, Greg, Gary, the Girls, the Babies and so many more are rejoicing...and the Lord is smiling broadly, yes, even grinning with excitement! Like a child at Christmastime, the anticipation of what is to come is causing us all to giggle at the prospect. Around the church, we say "YEA GOD" but that even sounds inadequate! Being humbled in this way is another reminder of just how significant individual efforts are colllectively for Kingdom's Sake! We have a long way to go, but Praise Him for the huge step He has allowed us to take. "Be still and know, that I am God."

Humbled, Overwhelmed and Praising Him for the opportunity to be His servant,

For HIS children,
Terry
